Cutting means cutting, not adding a drop
Enter the piece you are taking — the parent item shrinks by that amount and stays available. A corner cut automatically draws the resulting L-shape, to scale. The software even applies a squaring rule on items already in L-shape, and tells you so on screen instead of hiding it.
