This policy explains how SysCut, a business based in Sorel-Tracy, Québec, Canada ("SysCut", "we"), collects, uses, shares, and protects the personal information of visitors to syscut.com and customers of SysCut Profile Suite. By using this site or our services, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide, through one of our forms (contact, demo request, trial download, purchase):
- Full name
- Email address
- Company name and job title (optional)
- General address/location and phone number (optional)
- The content of your message or request
- At purchase: your machine code, used to generate your license serial
Certain technical information may also be collected automatically when you visit our site, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, connection data, and technical logs necessary for the site's operation and security.
We do not collect any credit card or payment information — this is handled directly by our billing partner (see section 4).
2. Your files and manufacturing data
SysCut Profile Suite is designed to run primarily on your own local environment. We do not automatically collect your cut lists, inventories, profiles, or other production and technical data created in the software, except where you voluntarily choose to send us this information as part of a support request.
3. How we use this information
- Respond to your inquiries, demo requests, or support questions
- Give you access to the SysCut Profile Suite trial download
- Generate and deliver your license serials after a confirmed purchase
- Follow up with you about your trial or file, where you've consented to it
- Improve our site and communications
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
4. Sharing with service providers
To run the site and deliver our services, we rely on a small number of providers who process certain data on our behalf, each under its own privacy policy:
- Formspree — processes our form submissions (contact, demo, download) and routes them to us by email.
- Lemon Squeezy — acts as the merchant of record for all purchases. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment information directly on its own secure checkout page. SysCut does not have access to full payment card numbers or other sensitive payment details, but may receive certain order-related data (name, email, country, order status) to validate your purchase and generate your serial.
- Netlify — our hosting provider, which hosts the site and runs the technical functions required (e.g. verifying a purchase when you sign in to your account).
These providers may process or store certain data outside Québec or Canada, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
5. Cookies
syscut.com currently does not use any tracking cookies or analytics tools. Once redirected to Lemon Squeezy's checkout page, it may set its own cookies, governed by its own privacy policy. If we later add tracking, analytics, or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before they are activated.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as necessary to respond to your request, support your license, or meet our legal and accounting obligations. Information associated with your software licenses (machine code, serial, purchase history) may be kept for as long as needed to validate, renew, and support your SysCut Profile Suite license. You may request deletion of the information we hold about you at any time.
7. Your rights
Under Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector(Law 25) and Canada's federal PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdraw your consent to be contacted
- Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal obligations
To exercise any of these rights, email info@syscut.com. Martin Couture, founder of SysCut, is the person responsible for the protection of personal information. If you believe our handling of your personal information does not comply with applicable law, you may also file a complaint with Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information, the authority responsible for personal information protection.
8. Security
We apply reasonable safeguards (encrypted HTTPS transport, secure cloud hosting, restricted access) to protect your information. Data related to your software licenses is protected by measures designed to limit unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page.
